Procedure details for our campus community
Students
When °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ closes, all classes are canceled, and university offices are closed, except the Central Steam Plant, °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Police Department, and Facilities Management Department, which remain open. The Bear’s Den and East Campus Commons dining will open during their normal operating hours or as °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Dining employees are able to arrive on campus. Food delivery by robots will not be available. If °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ is closed for more than one day, arrangements may be made to open additional facilities to provide student activities.
If the °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ is closed during a scheduled exam period, information on new exam dates will be available through the Registrar’s Office on °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Mobile, the Student Portal, and the University’s homepage as soon as possible.

Faculty/Staff
When °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ closes, all classes are canceled, and university offices are closed, except the Central Steam Plant, °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ Police Department, and Facilities Management Department, which remain open. Employees who had requested sick time or vacation leave will be required to record those hours as such. Other than designated essential university personnel, all other faculty and staff are discouraged from coming to campus to allow for proper storm cleanup and employee safety.

Essential Employees
Essential employees are required to work when the university closes and must report to work or remain at work regardless of closings or delayed openings. For clarification, the hours of the day of an event are 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. These times are relevant for essential employees working second and third shifts.

Visitors/Events
When °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ closes, events are canceled unless circumstances demand otherwise, and the requisite level of support is available. If the event is during off hours, University Events will confer with the department sponsoring the event and Facilities Management. University Events records an announcement with any updates for both °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ and externally sponsored events on the Inclement Weather Events Line 508.531.1271.
